
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Sheikh Saad bin Mohamed Al Mardhouf Al Saadi, attended the ceremony marking the launch of a cooperation agreement on social responsibility between Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company, Vale and Sohar Aluminium, on Saturday.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Mohamed bin Said Al Kalbani, minister of social development and Sheikh Mahana bin Saif bin Salem Al-Lamki, governor of North Al-Batinah.
The initiative reflects the vision of the three companies on sustainable partnership with the community. The Minister of Commerce and Industry lauded the new agreement, which will focus on enhancing the role of corporate social responsibility in serving the society.
Mr Al Mardhouf Al Saadi said that “There is no doubt that this agreement reflects the vision of the three companies while adding that companies which embark on such ambitious initiatives no longer depend on their financial positions alone in building up their reputations. We are pleased to witness the birth of this cooperation.”
