Reuters reported that Pan Pacific Copper Company Limited plans to shut its Saganoseki plant in southern Japan for regular maintenance for all of November as scheduled.
The official said that "We close the Saganoseki plant for regular maintenance for about a month every year around this time of the year."
A senior official said recently that the company planned to close the Saganoseki plant in November for about a month and this has been adding to lower copper production. The company has the capacity to produce 450,000 tonnes of copper per year.
Nippon Mining & Metals Company Limited has 66% stake in Pan Pacific, while the reminder is held by Mitsui Mining and Smelting Company Limited.
