Gulf Times reported that Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company subsidiary Qatar Aluminum Extrusion will start commercial production of extruded profile by the end the Q1 and the four fold capacity expansion in its Qatar Acids Company is expected by early next year.

Mr Abdulrahman Abdullah al Ansari CEO of QIMC said that “The plant of Qatar Aluminum Extrusion Company has been commissioned and it is expected to start commercial production of extruded profiles with a capacity of 8,000 tonnes per year during the Q1 of 2012.”

Mr Al Ansari said that the civil work for the new factory was almost completed and machines and equipment have been received in pursuit of the commissioning the plant by early 2013. The QIMC subsidiary had embarked on a plan to increase the production capacity of Qatar Acids to 43,000 tonnes per year from the present 10,000 tonnes to meet the growing needs of the oil and petrochemical sectors in both Mesaieed and Ras Laffan industrial cities.

He said that in the context of strengthening the supply network for the main clients, a land plot in Ras Laffan Industrial City was acquired to arrange for the development of warehouse logistics. Its KLJ Organic plant will commercially produce chlorinated paraffin wax, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda by the middle of 2014.
