Queensland Mining Corporation has identified a large iron oxide copper-gold system with a strike length of over 3 kilometres during a first phase drilling campaign at the Just There copper‐gold prospect.
Broad intersections of anomalous copper have been reported in several holes with assays returned of:
172 metres at 751 parts per million copper for the entire length of the hole, including greater than 26 metres at 0.2% copper from 32 metres
72 metres at 797 parts per million from 80 metres, including 20 metres at 0.21% copper from 90 metres
Cross‐cutting mineralized veins sets were identified within the system with ore grade mineralization including:
17 metres at 1.94% copper and 0.61 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 23 metres, including 7 metres at 2.99% copper and 1.04g/t gold; and
3 metres at 1.55% copper from 15 metres.
The recently completed drilling program of 10 reverse circulation holes for a total of 1,776 metres was designed to test possible iron oxide copper‐gold targets similar to Xstrata’s world class copper mine at Ernest Henry, about 80 kilometres northeast of Just There, and Ivanhoe Australia’s large copper project at Mt Elliott, about 45 kilometres southeast of the prospect.
Broad geochemically anomalous copper zones, defining an IOCG system were encountered in seven of the 10 holes.
