In a resource update of its El Domo deposit in Ecuador, Salazar Resources outlined about twice the total tonnage at slightly lower grades than before.

At El Domo, Salazar's flagship project, the junior had previously reported 623,000 tonnes indicated @ 3.7% copper, 4.16% zinc, 0.41% lead, 3 g/t gold and 98 g/t silver along with 2.5 million tonnes inferred @ 3.33% Cu, 4.26% Zn, 0.38% Pb, 4.3 g/t Au and 83.2 g/t silver.

In the update, however, indicated resources grew near tenfold tonnage wise to 5.5 million tonnes @ 2.4 Cu, 2.5% Zn, 0.3 Pb, 2.8 g/t Au and 48.4 g/t Ag. Inferred resources decreased by about a million tonnes to 1.5 million tonnes @ 1.9% Cu, 2.8% Zn, 0.3% Pb, 2.4 g/t Au and 52.2 g/t Ag.

Although grade dropped considerably in both the indicated and inferred categories, Salazar compensated with significantly more contained metal, which grew at least fivefold across the board in the indicated category to 292 million pounds copper, 305 million pounds zinc, 37 million pounds lead, 498,000 ounces gold, 9 million ounces silver.

Salazar used 60 more drillholes in the new resource estimate, which comprise a flat lying volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit within about 100 metres of surface.
