
Shanghai copper and zinc surge by daily limit on LME gains
Reuters reported that Shanghai copper and zinc surged by their daily trading limit tracking steep gains in London in the previous session after central banks around the world came to the rescue of European lenders facing a credit crunch.
The most traded February copper contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange jumped 6% to CNY 58,180 per tonne. Shanghai zinc also climbed 6% to CNY 16,080 per tonne.
Shanghai aluminum rose 2.6% to CNY 16,240 per tonne off an earlier high of CNY 16,440.
