Southern Cross Goldfields has commenced a new phase of step out drilling and project wide ground EM surveys at its 100% owned Copper Bore Project in Western Australia.

Two new step out drill holes are underway targeting down dip and strike extensions to the Southern Gossan prospect with one hole expected to be completed before Christmas.

Down hole EM will be conducted following completion of drilling targeting off hole conductors representing potential accumulations of sulphide mineralization.

Previous drilling has confirmed VMS mineralization at Southern Gossan over a strike length of 150 meters and to a vertical depth of 230 meters which remains open down plunge and along strike to the north and south.

Previous intersections include 5 meters at 2.0% copper, 1.9 gram per tonne gold, 7.1% zinc and 25.4 gram per tonne silver. A project-wide ground EM survey commenced this week to provide EM coverage along the entire 10 kilometer strike length from Southern Gossan to Copper Bore, generating new drill targets for 2012.

The company aims to complete the new project-wide EM program prior to Christmas to define additional walk up drill targets for the New Year. These targets will include the bullseye aeromagnetic anomalies identified near Copper Bore and Kim’s Bore.

Southern Cross holds the non-iron rights immediately surrounding and to the north and south of the project area, positioning it well to capitalize from any further VMS discoveries in this district.
