Southern Cross Goldfields announced that in just the second step out hole drilled at the Southern Gossan prospect has returned an intersection of 3 meters of massive and disseminated sulphides from 265 meters down hole.

The outcome from the intersection at Southern Gossan which is hosted within the Copper Bore Project is that the volcanogenic massive sulphide zone has been extended.

The hole tested the mineralized horizon 60 meters to the south and 80 meters down dip of a previous intersection of 5 meters at 2% copper, 1.9 grams per tonne of gold, 7.1% zinc, 25.4 gram per tonne silver and 0.4% lead.

The mineralization intersected in the second step-out hole comprises sulphide minerals including chalcopyrite, sphalerite, pyrite and pyrrhotite, similar to the mineralization intersected in previous drill holes. The contact is open along strike to the north and south and at depth.

Southern Cross Goldfields would be encouraged by the new intersection as it provides further significant evidence for an emerging VMS discovery at the Southern Gossan Prospect, where a zone of VMS mineralization has now been defined over a strike length of 150 meters and to a vertical depth of 230 meters.
