
Strong prices lift Thompson Creek operating profit
Reuters reported that Thompson Creek Metals quarterly operating profit rose due to an increase in molybdenum sales volumes and a higher average realized sales price for the metal that is used to harden steel.
Excluding one-time items, the company's Q4 earnings rose to USD 34.4 million or 20 cents a share up from a year ago profit of USD 20.4 million or 14 cents a share.
