
A Taiwanese invested aluminum company has been fined TWD 312 million by Hai Duong Province People's Committee for polluting the environment.
Mr Tung Kuang was found guilty of discharging untreated wastewater directly into a local river and refusing to pay associated fees. High concentrations of toxic substances such as chromium IV, manganese, iron and nitrogen which exceeded acceptable levels were detected in the waste water.
Mr Nguyen Trong Thua deputy chairman of the Committee signed a decision to execute the administrative fine. According to the provincial Department of Environmental Protection, Established in 2002, the company has already been punished on numerous occasions for violating environmental regulations.
