Ton Yi Industrial Corporation expected that the tinplate market will face shortage situation in the domestic market.

The main reason is that it is only few tinplate suppliers in the market and demand from food industry is predicted to rise in the Q4 of 2009.

The shortage situation has pushed the tinplate price to go up by USD 150 per tonne on average. Not only in Taiwan but also Ton Yi's China subsidiary companies have received lots of orders in the Q4 of 2009.
