Recently listed Thomson Resources has intersected zinc-copper-silver-gold-tungsten-tin-lead mineralisation in the first drill hole on Cobar type targets on the Cuttaburra B magnetic anomaly.
Evidence of large, discrete mineralized hydrothermal systems was also discovered at Cuttaburra A and Ac within the prospective Thomson Fold Belt in New South Wales.
Assay results have been received from 52 core samples at the Cuttaburra B magnetic anomaly.
Highlights from first hole include
1. 0.7 metres at 4.2% zinc, 0.5% copper (Cu), 113 gram per tonne silver, 0.8% tungsten from 411 metres;
2. 0.33 metres at 0.8% Zn, 0.1% Cu, 19 gram per tonne Ag, 0.4% Sn from 346.7 meters depth
3. 1 metre at 0.53 gram per t Au, 0.2% Bi from 277 meters depth
Thomson Resources is now focused on detailed exploration within the anomalies to establish economic grades of mineralisation. Each of the magnetic anomalies covers around one square kilometer and several geophysical techniques are being trialled to help refine targeting. Drilling is continuing.
