Reuters reported that UBS' long serving commodity strategist Mr John Reade a specialist in gold and precious metals is to join Credit Suisse as a managing director and head of precious metals research.

The bank said that he will move to Credit Suisse in January 2010.

Mr Reade who trained at Imperial College London and worked as a gold equity analyst in Johannesburg for a forerunner of UBS between 1996 and 1999 is a well known figure in the London precious metals markets.
