The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company has commissioned the Phase I of the refining factory, Bashkirskaya Med in Bashkortostan. The output of the new facility totals 1.5 million tonnes of ore a year.

The representatives of the UGMK Press Service informed that the factory will receive and process copper and copper and zinc ores.

Within the next 5 years, UGMK is planning to invest more than RUB 30 billion in development of Bashkir copper and zinc deposits. By 2015, the company intends to receive 10.5 million tonnes of ore from its mining operations in Bashkortostan.
