It is reported that Afghanistan has recently tested their world's newest train line between Mazhar Sharif and the Tajikistan border. They are on schedule to laying down Afghanistan's first railway line from Tajikistan and Pakistan.

In Pakistan, minister of railway is still in denial about the sad state of his organization. The government has been pumping in millions of rupees into the organization and it is still not making any money (just like Pakistan steel mills).

In the past few years, here has been almost zero work done on any new lines. And although the organization has more then 500 engines, they still bought 70 plus engines from China, without even bothering to sign agreements for spare parts and warranty, and all of those engines broke down within the year.

The railway ministry has lost billions of rupees of government land to land mafia. Hundreds have been hired into the organization, but none of them are capable or even decent enough to do any work.

The railway minister needs to take prompt action within this month to resolve this. For such a large organization, the only option to get out of the red is to reduce the running costs and or sell assets to raise cash. The Minister of Railway needs to either reduce the workforce by 50% within one-month notice or reduce the salaries of each and every employee by 50% within one month.
