Al Fajer awards AED 245 million aluminium and glass contract

Al Fajer Properties has announced orders worth AED 245 million for aluminum and glass for its world class Jumeirah Business Centre towers projects.

Al Fajer said in the statement that by using the latest technologies and materials, its latest towers will be in compliance with the Green Building Regulations promoting a brighter, cleaner Dubai.

Work is well underway on its phase 1 projects with aluminum and glass materials expected to arrive early February 2009 allowing cladding to start immediately. For phase 2, the excavation, dewatering, shoring and piling has been completed and the green consultant has recently been appointed to ensure all requirements of the environment, health and safety department are met.

Under the terms of the order, Al Fajer has placed a contract value of approximately AED 154 million with Shenyang Yuanda Aluminum Industry Engineering Company Limited, Dubai Branch, for 6 of its 9 towers. The contract for the remaining 3 towers in the office chain series has been awarded to Reem Emirates Aluminium at an estimated contract value of AED 91 million.

Mr Wang Weiyuan marketing director of Yuanda Aluminium said that "To enter into the Middle Eastern and Gulf market with such a high profile project as well as working with the quality of a company such as Al Fajer is a very important opportunity for Yuanda Aluminium. Mr Derek Bruce GM of Reem Emirates Abu Dhabi also expressed his delight at winning the contract as this will be their first major landmark project in Dubai, giving them the opportunity to breakthrough and develop a base in the Dubai market.
