Pakistan’s largest Reverse Osmosis Plant installed at one place having a capacity of 6500 cubic meter per day was inaugurated recently by Mr Sharjeel Azhar CEO of Al Ittefaq Steel Products Company a group company of Al Tuwairqi of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The inauguration of state of the art Ultra Filtration and Reverse Osmosis Plant marked a major milestone in the completion of the TSML DRI Plant the first private sector integrated steel manufacturing complex in Karachi of Pakistan.

The Reverse Osmosis is the plant where raw water is filtered, cleaned and processed to be fed to the DRI Furnace. The pH level, algae and concentration of the suspended matter in water is controlled through various filtration processes. This RO plant is a precondition for process water requirement of 1.28 million tonne per annum capacity Tuwairqi Steel Mills DRI plant.

Mr Sharjeel attended Tuwairqi Steel Mills site located at Port Qasim accompanied by Mr Zaigham Adil Rizvi director (Projects) of TSML. Later on he toured the plant and was briefed about the steel manufacturing process.

Mr Sharjeel said that “The destination is defined by the journey we make after all, the myriad of experiences we go through in our journey are what add the inherent value in our destination. The journey at TSML continues and it is a journey that is built on hope, faith and perseverance as we strive to achieve our goal of a successful and respected company that not only works for the betterment of itself but also the betterment of Pakistan. I congratulate the entire team on this success their toil has indeed paid off today and will eventually mark glory INSHALLAH.”

Mr Zaigham Adil Rizvi said that “The successful commissioning of the Ultra Filtration and Reverse Osmosis Plant is the reward for the dedication and hard work shown by TSML family and demonstrates that we can achieve great things if we set our minds to it. We are committed to completing this project which will revitalize the steel industry and greatly benefit the prosperity of Pakistan.”
