
It is reported that Alumco has won a contract to provide aluminum composite cladding, aluminum and glazing works for the mixed use development project undertaken by Morganti International for East and West International Group at Muroor Road in Abu Dhabi.
Mr Samer Barakat MD of Alumco said that "We are extremely delighted to take up this challenging task. The mixed use development project is special since it paves the way for our first step into Abu Dhabi. We consider this as a golden opportunity to contribute towards the development boom in the emirate.” He added that “Right now, the project is at the design engineering phase. Alumco is set to begin work in February 2009 and is expected to finish its role by May 2010."
The contract won by Alumco involves the installation of 45,000 square meters of aluminum fittings which will include 25,000 square meters of unitized curtain wall, 16,000 square meters of stick curtain wall sliding doors and 3,700 square meters of aluminum fins and 700 square meters of louvers.
Al Habtoor Engineering is the lead contractor to the overall project while Bainona Consulting Engineering Bureau is the consultant and Bayaty Architects are the architects.
Mr Barakat further said that "Al Habtoor Engineering has chosen Alumco for this trendsetting project in Abu Dhabi owing to our excellent and proven track record in a specialized area of construction and engineering.
