AK News reported that the Leedco company has won the contract to build an international airport in the Mansuriya area of Diyala.

Mr Mujawwal Tayee head of the Diyala Investment Commission said that Leedco obtained the approval of the commission following months of negotiations and the agreement of the National Investment Commission and the Ministry of Transportation.

While Diyala has a reputation for insurgency, Mr Ragheb Zeydan administrator of Mansuriya said that the firm will be protected in the town.

Although referred to throughout the report as an American company the company in question has its headquarters in Vancouver, Canada. The company is privately held and 100% employee owned.
