Pipeline Dubai reported that Dutch pipeline builder Nacap has been awarded USD 350 million engineering, procurement and construction contract by Saudi Aramco to build a multi product pipeline from Ras Tanura Refinery to Riyadh.
Saudi based Nacap Suedrohrbau will build the 30 inch diameter pipeline, 3 pump stations, metering systems, substation buildings and maintenance.
The 506 kilometers pipelines are planned to transport diesel and kerosene from the refineries in Ras Tanura on the east coast to Riyadh via Dhahran and Al-Hasa in the central region of the Kingdom.
The company said that front end engineering and design of the pipeline was covered by UK based Jacobs Engineering Group for 6 months. This has resulted in fair estimates of the project materials and construction requirements on basis of which a Lump Sum Turn Key contract price of USD 350 million has been negotiated.
Mr Victor Aquina CEO of Nacap said that “Converting our initial unit pricing to a Lump Sum Turn Key project is an innovative approach and we are proud to be the preferred partner to Saudi Aramco for this project. This is an important step of Nacap’s continuing expansion in the Middle East and emphasizes our capabilities as an EPC contractor.”
