It is reported that Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited had won a contract for 2 gas turbine generating units worth INR 140 crore from the United Arab Emirates.

BHEL in a statement said that the order from International Energy Resources is for 2 units of 42 MW each. It said that "The Middle East is one of BHEL's key export regions one of the fastest growing markets for power generating equipment globally."

It said that BHEL has set up 14 power projects so far in the Middle East region, apart from supplying equipment for the power and oil and gas sectors in the region.
