The News reported that the Balochistan government has expressed its desire to purchase share in Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company.

Official sources said that Mr Nawab Raisani CM of Balochistan has informed Federal Petroleum Secretary Mr Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry who held a meeting with him about the desire of the provincial government.

Mr Nawab Raisani said that “We want to purchase share in PPL and SSGC while the provincial government is also going to establish its own energy department which would include a separate section to deal with exploration of oil and gas in the province.”

He said that the Balochistan government had been taking serious steps to make Gwadar winter capital as it would put positive impacts on the economy of the entire region including Pakistan and Central Asian states.
