
AK news reported that Basra Investment Board has licensed three investment projects worth USD 247.9 million.
Mr Khalaf Badran the Chair of Basra Investment Board said that the Basra Iron and Steel Plant worth USD 214 million and with a capacity to produce 250 tonnes per year will be constructed within 18 years by a Turkish company.
The board has also licensed a UAE company to construct Manawi Mall and Manawi Business Tower which will cost USD 31 million. The third license gave permission for a contemporary USD 2.9 million shopping center to built in Dayr district. A local investor will create the three-story mall which will contain 90 shops.
