
MEED reported that the bid deadline for the fourth package of the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University for Women is set to be extended by one month to the end of March 2009.
Bids were due to be submitted on February 28th 2009, but the client, the Saudi Arabia’s finance Ministry has issued more details for the package, prompting requests from contractors for the deadline extension.
The SAR 1 billion fourth package covers the construction of a 10 kilometer long monorail network to link facilities at the university. The three packages totaling SAR 30 billion at the university have been awarded by the Saudi’s finance ministry.
Saudi Oger was awarded the first package, worth SAR 12.5 billion, Saudi Binladin Group won the second contract, worth SAR 10 billion, and El Seif Engineering & Contracting won the third, worth SAR 8 billion.
