
Trade Arabia reported that Burj Khalifa has won a Best Tall Building award for 2010 from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat an international organization based in Chicago.
These awards recognize outstanding tall buildings from each of 4 geographical regions and this year are awarded to Bank of America Tower New York, The Pinnacle Duxton, Singapore, Broadcasting Place, Leeds and Burj Khalifa Dubai.
These buildings were selected for their design and technical innovations, sustainable attributes and the enhancement they provide to both the cities and the lives of their inhabitants.
The jury also selected the 2010 recipients of the Council’s two lifetime achievement awards. This year’s winners will be recognized and the awards conferred at the CTBUH 9th Annual Awards Dinner & Ceremony which will take place at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago on October 21.
