CVS, Turkey's engineering and plant making company for the iron and steel sector, announced that it has completed the equipment delivery of the melt shop and supervised the erection of the plant of Taybah Stee in Egypt.

According to a statement CVS made, the melt shop, which will have the capacity to produce 450,000 tonnes of steel billets per year, will be commissioned through the end of 2011 once electricity is connected to the plant.

CVS said that the electricity supply authority of Egypt has granted the license to Taybah Steel and that electricity would be provided by October 2011.

As previously reported, according to a contract signed between CVS and Taybah Steel, CVS has supplied an electric arc furnace, a material feeding system, a ladle furnace, a four line continuous billet caster, a dust collecting system and a melt shop for the Egypt based company. CVS completed the installation of other equipment late last year.
