Pearl Dubai a leading real estate developer has commenced main construction work on Dubai Pearl, the AED 15 billion (USD 4 billion) integrated luxury development, following the completion of the enabling and piling works.

The main construction is being undertaken by the Al Habtoor Leighton Group, which was awarded the construction work at the end of 2008.

Mr Abdul Majeed Ismail Al Fahim chairman of Pearl Dubai said that “The commencement of main construction work on the project strongly illustrates our commitment to ensure a timely transformation of this high-end landmark destination, which will set new industry benchmarks in the region.”

Mr David Savage MD of the Al Habtoor Leighton Group added that “We have been involved with Dubai Pearl from the beginning of its construction, and will continue to ensure that excellence in quality and safety goes hand in hand with the use of the best technology on the project.”

To comply with the Leed Gold certification processes, Pearl Dubai is facilitating recycling of materials from the previously demolished structures, and is currently working towards meeting all pre-certification requirements.
