
Gulf News reported that construction giant Drake and Scull has bagged a SAR 352 million contract for a commercial development in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
The deal takes the total value of contracts awarded to the company's Saudi mechanical, engineering and plumbing arm, Drake and Scull Saudi to SAR 2.4 billion in 2011. Its biggest contract for 2011 to date is the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre project in Riyadh valued at SAR 2 billion.
Mr Khaldoun Tabari CEO of Drake and Scull International said that "At its current pace, the performance of Saudi Arabia's construction sector is matching the strong figures it posted in 2009."
He said that "Riyadh in particular has been a favorable environment for us and we are in fact in the process of closing another deal in the capital which we hope to announce soon."
