Drydocks and Adnoc units discuss cooperation

Trade Arabia reported that Dubai based Drydocks World held talks with Adnoc and its group of companies aimed at further strengthening their trade cooperation to stimulate oil and gas industry and trade in the Middle East.

Drydocks World said that its officials met top executives representing Adnoc's shipping arm Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company & National Gas Shipping Company. The Adnoc shipping unit delivers the UAE’s energy to the world through safe, efficient and environmentally responsive transportation of petroleum products, liquefied natural gas and other cargos.

Adnatco and NGSCO has two LNG carriers, Al Hamra and Umm Al Ashtan and a Bulk carrier Arrilah-1 currently undergoing repair and maintenance at the Dubai Drydocks World shipyard. Another ship Al Dhafrah, a Ro-Ro vessel was repaired earlier this year.

Mr Khamis Juma Buamim chairman of board of Drydocks World and Maritime World and Mr Ali Obaid Al Yabhouni GM of Adnatco and NGSCO also exchanged views on various issues related to the transportation of oil and gas and future strategies focused on developing such vital marine trade due to its importance for global economy and the role of energy in general.

Mr Buamim said that the meeting was part of ongoing discussions between the two sides aimed at bolstering relations and exchanging visits and ideas. He asserted his company’s readiness to provide full support to Adnoc shipping unit as part of Dubai Drydocks World’s ‘Customer first initiative.

He said that the service relied on efficiency and productivity as well as technical excellence, optimal safety and on-time delivery. The service was in line with the company’s new strategy of supporting and stimulating the oil and gas industry and maritime transport.

Mr Buamim noted that speed, accuracy and quality are the real principles behind jobs carried out at the shipyard. Our ‘Operational Excellence’ program stresses on the development of performance management, operations and limiting waste of resources and preservation of the actual capacities of both the client and the service provider and supports dynamic safety and the environment management processes and procedures.

He said that in addition, vessel building capacity and in-house engineering and technical expertise across the Group helps us to address the diverse needs of Adnatco and NGSCO in all our yards in Dubai UAE, Batam Indonesia and Singapore.

Mr Al Yabhouni said that he appreciated the safe, qualitative and professional services offered by Drydocks World and hoped that Group will continue to maintain the level of service delivery. He highlighted the importance of partnerships and the development of bilateral relations, affirming his trust that Drydocks World would do everything possible to meet the future needs of Adnatco and NGSCO.
