Arabian Business reported that the foundation stone of Dohaland's flagship USD 5.5 billion housing projects is set to be laid on January 13th 2010.

As per report, Dohaland will conduct the ceremony at its Heart of Doha project which will be developed under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al Missned.

Mr Jawaher al Khuzaei Dohaland’s assistant manager for public affairs said that to be developed in Phases V, the first stage of the project will be completed by 2012. He said that the entire project is likely to be completed by the end of 2016 and will cover an area of nearly 35 hectares next to the Emiri Diwan, Qatar’s seat of government.

The Heart of Doha project comprises a variety of buildings ranging from 3 to 30 storeys and is the first project of Dohaland, which was set up in August 2007 by Qatar Foundation with a mandate to evolve cutting edge urban living concepts that build on traditional Arabian architecture and design.
