
Arab News reported that Mr Faisal bin Hamad Al Sugair has been appointed new president of the General Authority for Civil Aviation replacing Mr Abdullah Rehaimi.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah made the appointment on Sunday by issuing a royal decree on the recommendation of Crown Prince Sultan deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation.
Mr Al Sugair serves as non executive independent member of the Board of Mobile Telecommunications Company of Saudi Arabia. He is currently GM of the Business Development Unit of Abdulqader Al Mehaideb and Sons Company. He holds a position on the Boards of several Saudi companies including Arabian Pipes Company, SAAB Corporation Company and Eastern Petrochemicals Company. He holds a master's and a doctorate degree in civil engineering from Stanford University, United States. He is a member of the teaching staff of King Saud University.
