
Galfar Engineering and Contracting SAOG have been awarded a contract for the dualization of the Izz Adam road at a cost of OMR 51 million.
The project is part of the Transport and Communications Ministry's mission to enhance motoring safety on the Sultanate's carriageways. Dualisation of the 45 kilometers Izz Adam single carriageway will also facilitate the safe and efficient movement of goods to and from the Port of Salalah, the Sultanate's biggest maritime port.
The ministry has stipulated 972 days timeframe, inclusive of the mobilization period, for the completion of the project. The project is the latest addition to Galfar's growing portfolio of prestigious road contracts currently under various stages of implementation. Notable are the Ibri Jabri dualisation and the Hasik Shuwaymiyah coastal road one of the most challenging road construction schemes undertaken in Oman in modern times.
