
Dr Hans Erlings CEO of Galfar said that leading Omani engineering construction firm Galfar has been awarded a contract by Oman Gas Company to build its Nimr Compression Station at a cost of OMR 13.776 million. A 1 year time frame has been stipulated for the completion of the Engineering-Procurement-Construction contract.
Earlier, state owned OGC, which owns and operates the country's gas transportation network had announced that the Nimr project would help meet the increasing demand for gas in the Dhofar Governorate. The maximum capacity of the network, which consists of pipelines and a pumping plant, will be over 20 million cubic meters of gas per day.
It will serve oilfield operators, as well as supply gas to the Salalah methanol project. It will also cater to the new power and desalination plant to be established at Taqah and also supply Dhofar Power Company, Raysut Cement Company Raysut Cement Company, Octal PetrochemicalsOctal Petrochemicals and other factories in Raysut Industrial Area.
