MEED reported that Abu Dhabi Gas Industries has issued tenders for three new engineering, construction and procurement schemes worth an estimated USD 600 million. The company is expected to launch another five projects in 2011.

The tenders cover a carbon dioxide recovery system estimated at USD 260 million, nitrogen injection systems and a gas pipeline.

No exact dates were given, but Gasco will take potential bidders on a site visit in early February, while technical submissions are due in March and commercial proposals in April. Deadlines for the pipeline deal are set for April and May 2011.

The second scheme, worth about USD 160 million will see nitrogen gas from Elixier, a JV of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Germany’s Linde Group, injected into Gasco's gas fields. Front end engineering and design work on these projects has been completed.

A related project, the Nitrogen Breakthrough, Nitrogen Recovery scheme will prevent the injected nitrogen from seeping back to the surface, and is expected to be tendered in mid 2011.

The final project covers two 52 inch lean gas pipelines. The first will run 100km from gas processing facilities at Habshan in central Abu Dhabi to the Port of Ruwais in the Western Region. The second will run 60 kilometers from Ruwais to Shuweihat. Industry sources put the value of the deal at about USD 160 million.
