
Global energy experts will discuss steps to be taken by governments and companies to build a sustainable future at a major summit in Dubai.
Organized by Spintelligent, a division of Clarion Events, Smart Energy Middle East will be held from October 23rd to 25th 2011 at the Park Hyatt Hotel. The summit will provide comprehensive presentations and participate in panel discussions, round table conferences, workshops and networking sessions to help the Middle East pursue its goal of securing a sustainable energy industry.

Day one will commence with a pre conference workshop on Advanced Metering Infrastructure. This seminar will provide attendees with complete information on the technological and deployment options available in the field and how to efficiently implement them for optimal use. In addition, case studies will be presented explaining how the Middle East can benefit from lessons learnt from numerous global smart metering deployments.
According to a recent study by global management consultants, A.T. Kearney, the GCC can potentially save USD 5 billion to USD 10 billion in infrastructure investment by 2020 by utilizing smart technology in monitoring and measuring energy usage.
Governments in the Middle East recognize the considerable cost savings they can make by deploying AMI and smart meters and have significantly invested in attaining a sustainable energy sector.
Day one of the conference, Mr Thom Bohlen chief technical officer of Middle East Centre for Sustainable Development will present plans and ideas for future sustainable developments in the region. Furthermore, presenting the results and lessons learned by the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority in its largest regional smart metering deployment will be Mr SaeedNassouri Senior Technical Advisor of Adwea.
Mr Muness Charara GM Middle East, Itron; Mr Andreas Brun senior VP of EMEA, Landis+Gyr; Mr Claus U Damm VP Power plus Communications and Mr BehroozNasab VP KTCI will take part in a panel discussion exploring the significant contribution of technology and innovation in turning policy and vision into reality.
Dr Essam A Al Ammar energy consultant of Riyadh Techno Valley, Saudi will focus on implementing demand response management by presenting a case study on energy efficiency addressing the necessity for customer engagement in the GCC.
Mr Jeremy Heath network manager Sutton & East Surrey Water, UK will host a comprehensive and engaging workshop to teach participants how to make informed decisions efficiently by using smart meters and advanced metering infrastructure.
