The News reported that Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the government to avoid gas load shedding in Sindh citing serious setback to business activities in the province.
Mr Iqbal Baig chairman HCCI’s committee on gas said that Sindh contributes 72% of the total gas produced in Pakistan while its consumption was around 33 percent of the total gas consumed in Pakistan.
He said that we do not accept the government’s decision of carrying out 2 days gas load shedding to CNG stations and commercial consumers. It will be an injustice to the province. The constitution also provides for according priority to meeting the local requirements from a natural resource.
