The Habtoor Leighton Group has confirmed it is to begin work on the Phase I of the North Gate Mall project in Qatar’s capital Doha.

The company revealed that it the total value of the project will be USD 290 million. Phase 1 covers a total built up area of around 375,00 square meter with a podium comprising two levels of carpark, a three level mall and six, five level office buildings. Construction will commence immediately and the project is due for completion in March 2014.

Mr Laurie Voyer CEO of HLG said that the group will now aim to secure contract wins in the upcoming Doha Metro and Lusail Expressway projects. Qatar is a very important market for HLG.
