According to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Iranian steel producer Hormozgan Steel, a subsidiary of Iranian state run steelmaker Mobarakeh Steel, produced about 9,000 tonnes of steel slab during the month from September 21st to October 20th 2011 inclusive.

Hormozgan Steel commissioned its second EAF a few weeks ago. Located at the Iranian Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Steel has an annual output capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of steel slab.
