
According to GBI research, the global offshore oil and gas industry is expected to continue to increase in the coming years. Global offshore crude oil production was 9,349 million barrels and global offshore natural gas production was 26,807 billion cubic feet in 2008. With a positive outlook and the continuing trend for the offshore industry, the global offshore crude oil production is expected to increase to 9,852 million barrels by 2015. On the other hand the global offshore natural gas production is expected to increase to 27,045 billion cubic feet by 2011.
US energy information administration from oil and gas sector announced that Middle East has more than half of the world total reserve oil. Further to that, offshore production in Middle East will rise to about 9% of total output by 2015 from 7.7% in Africa offshore will rise to almost 5% from 4.25% and in Latin America, offshore will increase to around 3.8% of output from about 3%.
