It is reported that UK services firm Interserve won two contracts worth a combined USD 19 million for engineering and fabrication work at Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City.
The first deal covers engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning work for US oil services firm Baker Hughes at its solvents blending plant.
The second project for the Oryx gas to liquids plant includes structural and pipework manufacturing for the facility which converts natural gas to low sulphur diesel, naptha and liquefied petroleum gas.
Interserve's JV with the local Madina Group, where it holds a 49% stake will carry out the two projects. The venture expects both projects will use a new fabrication facility which Madina set up in 2008 at Ras Laffan.
Madina is also competing for a set of integrated service contracts on the UK/Dutch Shell's Pearl GTL facility at Ras Laffan.
InterServe Plc is UK's leading building and facilities management group. InterServe Project Services, part of InterServe group, provides whole life solutions for building and civil engineering projects throughout the UK and overseas.
