Tehran Times reported that Iran’s cement output amounted to 30.5 million tonnes in the first 5 months of the current Iranian calendar year.

The output was 3.2% higher compared to the same period last year. Iran produced over 66.4 million tonnes of cement in the past calendar year showing 8% rise compared to the year before.

Mr Mehdi Ghazanfari Industry, Mine and Trade minister of Iran has said that the country's current cement production capacity stands at 74 million tonnes. The figure will reach 110 million tonnes by 2015.
