
Tehran Times reported that Iran’s non oil exports are projected to hit USD 59 billion in the next Iranian calendar year which begins on March 21st 2013.
Mr Mehdi Fathollah Industry ministry official said that the Fifth Five Year Economic Development Plan has envisaged that non oil exports would reach $59 billion in the third year of the plan.
According to the plan, the value of non oil exports will increase to USD 69 billion and USD 80 billion in the years to March 2015 and March 2016, respectively.
Mr Mohammad Reza Izadian the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran's director for planning affairs said Iran plans to give a boost to its non oil exports in the second half of the current year. The total value of Iran's non oil imports and exports during the H1 of the current year amounted to USD 47.1 billion.
According to the Customs Administration data, Iran exported around 37.45 million tons of goods worth USD 20.62 billion and imported some 19.12 million tonnes of goods worth USD 26.48 billion in the 6 month period.
Iran exported around USD 43.7 billion worth of non oil goods in the previous year and imported some USD 61.8 billion worth of goods to hit the unprecedented mark of USD 105 billion in annual trade.
Mr Shamseddin Hosseini Finance and Economic Affairs Minister of Iran said that Iran conducted economic transactions with 150 countries in the last calendar year. Iran's annual trade turnover is projected to reach USD 160 billion by the end of the fifth 5 year development plan.
