
Tehran Times reported that the value of Iran’s annual non oil exports to the neighboring Iraq has increased to around USD 5 billion in the current year from just USD 790 million in 2005.
Mr Hassan Danaeefar Iranian ambassador to Iraq said that “Iran exported some $1 billion in electricity and oil products and the same amount in technical and engineering services to Iraq in the previous year.”
Iranian companies are projected to build 2 power plants in Iraq.The two sides have signed a deal worth USD 400 million to establish a gas pipeline from Iran to Iraq.
Mr Abbas Memarnejad customs administration director of Iran said that the value of non oil exports including gas condensates, stood at USD 31.9 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year which ended on December 21, showing 38% rise YoY.
Mr Abbas Memarnejad said that the Iranian non oil exports amounted to 56.164 million tonnes in weight up 10% compared to the same period the year before.
