Mehr News Agency Iranian crude steel production in the 7 months period reached 6,269,989 tonnes showing an 8% increase compared to the same period of 2008.

IRNA News Agency quoted Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization as stating that Iran’s processed steel production in the mentioned period stood at 5,824,243 tonnes.

Iran’s crude steel exports in the mentioned period also exceeded 651,478 tonnes worth some USD 273 million which showed 57% increase in volume compared to the previous year’s figure.
