
IRNA news agency quoted Mr Abdolhossein Bayat MD of National Petrochemical Company as saying that Iran exported some USD 11 billion worth of petrochemical products in the first nine months of the current calendar year which ended on November 21st 2011.
Mr said that the country's petrochemical products are exported to over 60 countries. Mr Bayat had said earlier that the value of Iran's petrochemical exports is expected to reach USD 14 billion by the end of the current year.
Mr Bayat noted that Iran produced more than 40 million tonnes of petrochemical goods in the last Iranian calendar year. The country also exported 18 million tonnes of petrochemical products worth USD 11.6 billion last year, showing a 26% increase compared to two years ago.
