AK News reported that an MP from the National Alliance will file a lawsuit at the Federal Court against the Kurdistan Regional Government over Kurdistan's crude oil exports to Turkey.

The charge against KRG is violating the constitution by exporting oil to Turkey. Attached to the lawsuit will be necessary documents over oil smuggling as well as a copy of the deal between Erbil and Ankara for Kurdistan oil exports.

Mr Taner Yeldiz energy minister of Turkey said that Ankara has began importing Kurdistan oil and daily up to 10 tankers cross the border into Turkey and their number will be increased to up to 200 tankers in future. His country is discussing with KRG importing natural gas from Kurdistan.

Baghdad officials aspire for a centralized control over Iraqi oil while KRG deems by virtue of the constitution the regions have the right to invest in their oil fields independently from Baghdad. Thus, Baghdad labels KRG's oil contracts illegal. The disagreement has also generated charges of oil smuggling to the countries in the region which are frequently exchanged between Baghdad and Erbil.
