Iraqi government USD 199 million to build 2000 new homes

Bloomberg reported that the Iraqi government has awarded contracts worth USD 199 million to 2 construction companies to build 2,000 homes in the southern provinces of Thi Qar and Muthanna.

Mr Louay Mousa president of the Thiqar Investment Commission said that Markez Inc, an Iraqi and American company incorporated in Maryland but with no contact address on its website, secured a USD 139 million deal to build 1,000 homes within three years.

Mr Adil Dakhil president of al Muthanna Investment Commission said that Koma Company of Iraq is to build another 1,000 homes at a cost of USD 60 million in Samawa the capital of Muthanna province.
