Turkey's largest steelmaking group Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS announced that its Iskenderun based subsidiary Iskenderun Demir ve Celik AS has decided to implement its recent lockout decision on June 30th 2011.

This decision has been made upon the decision of Celik Is Union to carry out strike action on June 30th 2011. The strike decision was made on May 30th 2011 during the collective labor agreement negotiations carried out between Celik Is Union and Isdemir management. Talks between the parties are still in progress.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, Isdemir decided on a lockout in response to the labor union's strike decision.
