
Turkish steelmaker Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS has decided to prolong the suspension of production at its meltshop and rolling mill for one more week.
As per report, IDC had said that it would suspend production at its rolling mill for 3 weeks beginning from May 9th and for two weeks at its meltshop starting from May 16th 2011.
IDC has a meltshop with an annual production capacity of 1.32 million tonnes, equipped with a seven strand continuous caster, capable of producing 140 x 140 mm x 12 m steel billets, while its rolling mill can produce 900,000 tonnes of rebar per year.
