A senior Japanese official said that the Japanese authorities will have no issues in granting security clearance to any Japanese company that wants to invest in the Thar coal project.

The Japanese officials in Pakistan have visited the site of the Thar coal project and its surrounding area and have sent a report to Tokyo.

The report by the Japanese officials comes in the wake of recent news that a Chinese company had cancelled its plans to invest in the Thar coal.
